I provided a sound system, lighting and my multi-bulletcam/Canon XL2 video system for the IV Thieves CD relase party for New West Records at Habana. Photos of the event are here:

I mixed The Sophisticates for the Georgetown Area Community Foundation's Triple Crown Gala 2006 on Saturday. This was a new event for both myself and The Sophisticates. The band played a long set, followed by a live auction, and then played another long set. The food was good and the dance floor was packed while the band played. A good time was had by all, as the cliche goes. Here are photos from the event that I put on The Sophisticates web site:

The Sophisticates played the La Dolce Vita fundraiser event for Austin Museum of Art (AMOA). The event is a yearly fundraiser for the Museum and was held at the Laguna Gloria location. I mixed the band and also supplied satellite sound systems for the "Cigar Lounge" and "VIP Area" that allowed music and announcements from the main stage to be heard at locations several hundred feet away.Various local restaurants and wineries have tables set up around the grounds and participants get to sample their wares. The food, drink and entertainment at La Dolce Vita are definitely a high point in the area's art scene calendar.

I was back out at Carlos & Charlie's again Saturday night, this time providing sound for The Sophisticates. I had thought that the croud would be light due to the U.T. vs. Ohio game, but they had several t.v. sets set up ad there were a good number of people already out there watching the game. U.T. lost and the mood was mildly somber - for about thirty seconds! A good time was had by all and some had too much of a good time (as usual out there). There were definitely some photos I took that will have to remian private for the time being. They won't do anyone any good in promoting any of our business pursuits. Here are the photos I can show you:Sophisticates photos from Carlos & Charlie's 09-09-06
I also made a multitrack recording of the show to be used as demo material and for evaluating the performance in order to improve the show even more.

I mixed the third show in the Dell City Limits series of lunchtime shows for Dell employees at their Parmer North campus. My other engineer, Richard Belisle, has been mixing concurrent shows at the Dell Round Rock campus. This Friday it was The Derailers. They have been around for years, performed at the Grand Ole Opry, had their music played in the space shuttle, as well as other noteworthy musical accomplishments. They put on a great show and the Dell employees enjoyed it immensely.Photos from Deraliers show at Dell
