Two Sophisticates shows this weekend
Sunday, July 2, 2006, 07:23 PM
I had two shows with The Sophisticates this weekend, Thursday night at Cool River and Saturday at Johnny Fins. So far, I'm actually off for the Fourth of July, which will be the first time in a few years. I get to spend time with my family and go to the great fireworks show at Austin Country Club.

I updated The Sophisticates and Johnny Fins with photo galleries:

"Wake Up, Herbert" limited screening at Austin Studios screening room
Sunday, July 2, 2006, 02:23 PM
We had a small screening of "Wake Up, Herbert" at Austin Studios before sending it off to several film festivals. Those attending were mainly production crew and their friends or spouses. Kat Candler, producer and director of Jumping Off Bridges, was present as well.

I snapped off a few shots of the participants:

Three Newsboyz shows in a row this weekend
Sunday, June 25, 2006, 08:23 AM
I had two Newsboyz shows at Cool River Cafe on Thursday and Friday and then another Newsboyz private party for "Todd" in Waller, TX at his property out in the countryside somewhere.

Here are links to the Cool River Cafe shows:

At "Todd's party" I took a few telephoto shots of some parachutists (we were next to a rural airport) and a bunch of extreme wide angle shots silhouetting the party goers against the stage lighting. Photo gallery here:

Swingin' in the Meadow
Monday, June 19, 2006, 10:11 PM
Sunday, I did a big band show for Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church out at their new property on 290, 3 miles past the "Y" at Oak Hill. My friend, Sam Scheeler, plays upright bass in their 18-piece jazz band and he suggested they take advantages of my services to maximize the listening experience for the audience, which consisted of congregation members and friends. The event was a celebration of the site for their new church, which will be built on this 70 acre site over the next two years.

I took a few photos in the beautiful golden light just before sunset. Here is a link to the photo gallery:

I've been quite busy. I went to Midland for most of last week to visit some friends. I did have several shows since my last post. I mixed The Newsboyz at Cool River and Johnny Fins and The Sophisticates at Cool River.
